Chris Aiken earned his bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology form Emory University in 2014. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2022.

While in law school, Chris served for two years as a research assistant to Professor Heather Elliott, whose scholarship covers several areas within the field of environmental law. During his time in law school, Chris helped Professor Elliott usher multiple scholarly articles toward publication and helped edit her forthcoming magnum opus titled Alabama Water-Resources Law: A Critical Treatise, which has been billed as a “must-read for all Alabama policymakers, attorney, and concerned citizens.”

Prior to joining Appleby Healy, Chris gained valuable trial experience while serving as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Christian County Prosecutor’s office. During his time as an APA, Chris specialized in the prosecution of property-related crimes and handled several felony trials as both lead counsel and co-counsel.

An active member of the Ozark community, Chris was elected to the Board of Alderman in 2025 and currently serves as an Alderman for Ward 1. Chris sits on a committee for the Public works department and is a strong proponent of preserving and improving our public infrastructure.

Chris is a member of the Missouri Bar, the Christian County Bar Association, and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association. He currently practices in several areas, including general civil litigation, probate litigation, and criminal defense. He is licensed to practice in the Western District of Missouri.
